Mary Louise Rago

Mary Louise Rago, 82, of Hendersonville, NC peacefully passed away on Friday, February 20, 2026.

Mary was born on August 17, 1943 to the late William Stupar (1991) and Louise Apnar Stupar (1953) in Chicago, IL.

Mary resided in Forest Park, IL for several years before moving to Hendersonville, NC, where she lived for the last 9 years. She was employed at Four Seasons Hospice Home Store for many years before retiring. Mary was a North Carolina Guardian ad Litem court advocate and a volunteer for Four Seasons. She was a graduate of the Henderson County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy. Mary loved volunteering, gardening, discovering the history behind antiques. She also enjoyed giving everyone her unsolicited, yet educated opinion, fighting the patriarchy, and rescuing dogs.

Mary is survived by her brothers, William Stupar (Sue) of Plainfield, IL, Charles Stupar (Linda) of Benton, Harbor, MI; and 4 spoiled nieces.

A memorial service will be held in the summer of 2026. An announcement with more details will be made at a later date.
